Double Feature

Yesterday was a good day. Of course, any day I get to see more than one play is automatically a good day in my book. First, I ushered for a matinee performance of the touring Broadway show “All Shook Up”. After a couple of hours break, a friend and I went to see the World Premiere of SITI Company’s “Radio Macbeth”. They were pretty extreme opposites. “All Shook Up” was kind of fun, but entirely too predictable. “Radio Macbeth” featured some of the most compelling acting I’ve ever seen and an intriguing adaptation.

Winter Wonderland

Columbus, along with the rest of Ohio is under siege by Old Man Winter. Last week we were under a Level 2 Snow Emergency (some counties were Level 3) and many Columbus businesses and all schools were closed one or two days. Lots of snow, followed by ice, followed by more snow.

Here’s a view of our neighbor’s patio furniture:

Driving down to Kentucky we saw miles and miles of trees covered in ice:

It was quite magical.

Yesterday it was just very cold. Today it has started snowing again.

The Weather

It’s been getting colder in Ohio. Woke up this morning and it was zero degrees F outside, with a wind-chill of -18 degrees. Brr! For some reason I saw a lot more robins today than usual, most of them were sitting on the ground, with their feathers poofed out trying to stay warm. Poor things.
